The semifinalists of the WFC are now ensured as the last games of quarter finals reached their end on Thursday. Switzerland and Sweden qualified to the semifinals so on Friday Finland will play against Czechy and Switzerland will face Sweden.

Switzerland was convincing on Thursday when it beated Estonia 9 to 0. The best player of the Swiss team was Paolo Reidi who scored 2+2. Points were also gathered by Tobias Heller (1+1), Tim Braillard (0+2) and Michael Schiess (0+2).

Pascal Meier, the goaltender of team Switzerland, was also on fire since he made amazing 22 saves in the game and ensured that Estonia was left without goals.

Heated game between Sweden and Norway ended in Sweden’s victory

Sweden was impressive on its quarter final game especially at the beginning. After the first period Team Sweden was leading the game 6–0. Norway got some fighting spirit to the second period but in the end Sweden was victorious. Result: Sweden 8 and Norway 2.

The best player of team Sweden was Alexander Galante Carlström (1+2). Jesper Sankell and Johan Samuelsson both scored two goals.

With Thursday’s results, the games’ top four teams are now clear. The battle for the gold medal continues already on Friday when the semifinals begin. The final and bronze game will be played on Saturday.
