Ticket sales for the WFC Final Weekend are off to a quick start. The tournament is still 10 months away, but many sections and stands have already been sold out for the Final Weekend.
The Men’s World Floorball Championships will be played in December in Helsinki. Ticket sales for the Final Weekend started in November 2019. After record-setting initial sales during the first days of availability, tickets have continued to sell at a steady pace. There has also been a lot of interest in VIP tickets and boxes, particularly for the opening and final weekend of the tournament.
We are extremely happy to see that the tournament is arousing interest and that we are receiving ticket-related messages from Finland as well as from abroad. Ticket sales for the Finnish fan section have progressed at such a pace that we expect the atmosphere in the arena to be better than ever, says tournament Event Director Hanne Pirkola.
The European qualification tournaments are boosting ticket sales
In late January and early February, three European qualifications were played. Nine teams earned their place in the WFC 2020. Since then, there has been a noticeable increase in requests from abroad.
After the qualification tournaments, Sweden and Central European countries, in particular, have become active and purchased entire sections for their fan groups for the Final Weekend. It has already become impossible to fit some large groups into certain sections. Therefore, if you intend to come see the matches on the Final Weekend with your team or another larger group, we recommend contacting us as soon as possible, so that we can best ensure that all groups get their desired seating.
The teams that earned their place from the European qualification tournaments were: Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Norway, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Denmark and Latvia. In addition, the USA, Canada and the host nation Finland have previously qualified. Four more teams will be added from the Asia-Oceania qualifications, which will be played in early March.
Preliminary round and semi-finals tickets available in April after the group draw
The group draw for the tournament will take place at Casino Helsinki on March 10th 2020. After this, the tournament game schedule will be confirmed, and tickets for preliminary round and semi-final days will become available in early April.
Group draw is streamed live on the IFF YouTube channel from 2.30 pm.
