Switzerland will host the top women’s floorball teams next year. From December 7 to 15, 2019, the city of Neuchatel will be the venue for the Women’s World Floorball Championship. This major event is taking on form day by day. The website is online, the ambassadors have been designated and both the visual promotion as well as the trailer have been created.
Neuchatel will be the center of attention for the floorball world in 2019. The best international women’s teams will be competing for the title at the World Cup from December 7 to 15. A total of 48 matches will be carried out in the main arena Patinoire du Littoral and the side hall Salle de la Riveraine. All of the Swiss matches as well as the quarterfinals will be played in the Littoral hall, which can hold up to 4,000 spectators. The Salle de la Riveraine (700 seats) is already the venue for the Euro Floorball Tour from November 9 to 11 this year. This women’s four-nation tournament between Switzerland, Sweden, Finland and the Czech Republic will be a dress rehearsal for the city of Neuchâtel prior to the main event next year.
Daniel Bareiss, President of swiss unihockey, sees the WFC as an opportunity: “The world’s best nations will provide us with entertaining matches and we hope they will get spectators all over Switzerland excited about floorball. We hope that this event will promote floorball in the long term, particularly in the French-speaking region of Switzerland, and we hope to make everyone in Western Switzerland enthusiastic about this dynamic, attractive sport. ”
Three Top Swiss Players as Ambassadors
The website for the World Championship in Neuchâtel is already online in French, German and English. Floorball fans will be kept up-to-date under www.floorball.sport/wfc2019 regarding ticket sales, qualifications, the draw, etc. Three top Swiss players are the ambassadors for the World Championship in Neuchatel: Corin Rüttimann (Piranha Chur), Brigitte Mischler (Wizards Bern Burgdorf) and Andrea Gämperli (Kloten-Dietlikon Jets). Taken together, the three have played a total of 191 international matches with the Swiss national team. The visual promotion with the three players will be released tomorrow, the trailer will follow on Thursday.
