Winterthur belongs to the Canton of Zürich in Switzerland and has a population of around 115,000. The region stretches from the Töss River valley to the Rhine waterfalls. The international airport lies in the west and the Canton of Thurgau in the east. Between the two, the city of Winterthur, with its unmistakable industrial charm, lies at the center. The city is embedded in a region of vineyards, forests, meadows, streams and villages and is a great place to relax.
With many possibilities for indoor and outdoor activities, Winterthur offers an exciting variety of things to do in the city as well as the surrounding area. Highlights include the Swiss Science Center Technorama, the Action Sports hall Skills Park and Indoor Skydiving im Windwerk. Culture also plays an important role in Winterthur, which has a photography center, an art museum, a main theater, the Casinotheater and the Musikkollegium orchestra.
Kloten airport can be reached in 30 minutes by car or in around 15 minutes by train.
