Both teams opened the semifinal rather carefully and the pace kept increasing as the first goals were scored. The opening goal was scored by Iza Rydfjäll, who scored from the center of the court and Kloten doubled their lead shortly before the first intermission. The Finns had problems controlling the ball and were struggling with the build up against the Swiss formations. After twenty minutes, the teams went into the locker rooms with the score at 2-0 for the Jets.
Kloten were more aggressive on the court, which helped them build a five-goal gap, which the Finns had troubles reducing. But in the end they managed to put themselves of the board after scoring from a free hit. SB-Pro didn’t slacken off and wanted to get back into the match. Their second goal was scored by Karoliina Kujala, who dug out the ball from below Monika Schmid’s back and sent it into the net. But it was the Swiss goalie who kept holding a high standard and contributed significantly to her team’s success with her saves.
With ten minutes left in the regulation the Jets players were awarded a penalty shot, but Isabelle Gerig sent the ball over Siltanen’s goal. Eight minutes before the end SB-Pro pulled their goalie for the first time and tried to reduce the gap with six players on the court. But Kloten didn’t allow any complications, added a few more goals, with the last one by Hana Koníčková, who found the empty net.
