SB-Pro is the Finnish participant of the Champions Cup, which starts on Saturday in Ostrava. The team that currently occupies the top position in their home league will fight for a spot in the final against Kloten-Dietlikon Jets.
Vítkovice and SB-Pro – these are the only two women’s teams that currently sit on the first place in their home competition. SB-Pro has a one-point lead ahead of EräViikingit, despite having played two matches less. After fifteen rounds they have twelve victories (including two in overtime) and three losses. The SB-Pro players scored 88 goals while conceding 62.
Karoliina Kuaja leads the team stats with 23 points for 13 goals and 10 assists. Jaana Lirkki, the team’s top scorer, has 22 points (16+6), followed by Meri-Helmi Höynälä (12+6) on the third place.
But the Finnish team doesn’t travel to Ostrava in the best of forms. They didn’t get a single point from their last two matches, losing to EräViikingit (3-4) as well as to PSS. Last five matches:
