The Champions Cup Event Disciplinary Function (EDF) has given a one match suspension to Adam Hemerka from Florbal MB (CZE). The suspension is in connection to an incident in the Champions Cup semi-final match against Nokian KrP (FIN) on Sunday 3rd November.
The incident under review happened at 19:58 and was penalised by the referees with a 2-minute penalty for tackle / tripping. The incident was reported to the EDF by Nokian KrP for further review.
In making their decision, the EDF reviewed the match video and statements from the player, the player’s club, match referees, and technical delegate. It was the opinion of the EDF that the action of Adam Hemerka should have been penalised with a match penalty, according to the Rules of the Game 614:3 When a player is guilty of violent physical play. According to the Rules of the Game 2022, 613:2 Match penalty shall lead to suspension for the rest of the match and from the following match in the same competition and possible further punishment according to the conditions and routines set by the administrating authority.
The final decision of the EDF was to penalise Adam Hemerka with the equivalent of a match penalty, which means a one match suspension from the next game in the event. No further sanction was deemed necessary.
This means that Adam Hemerka is ineligible for inclusion in his team’s next game in the Champions Cup, which is the second semi-final match against Nokian KrP, scheduled to be played on Thursday 14th November.
