Group stage is done in the Men’s AOFC World Floorball Championships Qualifications in the Philippines and next there are the semi-finals and placement matches. Three best teams will qualify for the final round in Malmö, Sweden from the 7th to the 15th of December 2024.

Group F

Australia win all their matches and finish first in Group F. This means they will advance to the semi-finals. Daniel Gartner and Tomas Gartner have been on fire in the Philippines and have helped their team by scoring majority of the goals. They are also on top in the scoring leader statistics: Daniel with 14 points (6+8) and Tomas with 11 points (7+4). Singapore finish second in the group. They only lost against Australia but won their matches against Japan and China. They will also continue to the semi-finals. Mikhail Raiyan Abd Aziz is their best points scorer with 11 points (7+4) followed by Muhammad Irwan Shaiful who has 10 points (6+4).

Japan finish third in the group and China fourth. This means that Japan will be playing for the 5th place and China for the 7th place in this qualification event and that they will not qualify for Malmö.

Group G

Thailand secured first place in Group G after winning against Philippines 8-3. Thailand have been strong in this event and have the same goal difference as Australia: 32 goals for and only 7 against. The key player for Thailand has been Jeerayut Yaemyim who is the best points scorer of the team with 10 points (4+6). Pawat Thaidit, the captain, continues to lead by example and while he does that, he also knows how to score: 5 goals and 2 assists in three matches. The Philippines finish second in the group. They have offered their fans entertaining floorball and one of the main persons has been Melvin Alm Mendoza. Mendoza has scored 8 goals and assisted one so far. We have seen some nice penalty shots and one Michigan goal from Mendoza and something tells us he won’t be stopping just yet.

Korea won the match against New Zealand 6-3 and take the third place in this group. This means that Korea will play against Japan for the 5th place and New Zealand against China for the 7th place.
