Men’s World Floorball Championships 2024 EUR2 Qualifications will take place in Lochow, Poland from 1st February – 4th February. Slovakia, Norway, Spain and Great Britain are playing in Group A and Czechia, Poland, Austria and Hungary in Group B.

The team is a mix of experienced players who have participated in many qualification tournaments and young and skillful players willing to help the team to qualifiy. The team is ready to fight to qualify for the first time for the World Championships.

Team UK is currently undergoing a generational transition, with a wave of talented young players making their debut on the national stage. This infusion of youthful energy, coupled with the seasoned experience of our players, is strengthening our team. As we approach the World Floorball Championship Qualifiers, we remain humble. Recognizing that we’re the underdogs, we’re determined to give our best. We’re excited to see how our young players will take on some of the world’s top teams.

#97 Robin Hickel – a young debutant on our team who radiates boundless energy and demonstrates impressive skills despite his young age.
Who is a leader on and off the field and why?
#19 Mark Jones – setting his sights high, assuming leadership, and serving as a role model. Not only a talented player in the German Flooball-Bundesliga but also holding the esteemed position of team captain for the UK. He is a figure trusted and respected by the entire team.
Most skillful player?
#23 Jacob Carleson – a crucial player for our team. He uses his awareness and speed to initiate strong attacks. He’s also good at slowing down the phase when needed, adding a valuable element to our team. It’s not just his floorball skills; Jacob’s unique personality not only improves his own performance but also brings energy and uplifts the entire team.

Poland
Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during WFCQ 2024?
A mixture of experience and youth. The team is in the process of rebuilding, but with the same goal – qualification to the WFC.

#2 Emil Karkulowski – although he is a young player, he plays very mature floorball with great speed, superb game understanding and split vision. Can play in several positions and he will surely become one of the fan favourites.
Who is a leader on and off the field and why?
#26 Sebastian Sternicki – informal leader on and off the field. He plays with a lot of poise, great dedication and inspires his teammates. Good at speaking up and those around him listen to what he has to say.
Most skillful player?
#97 Lucas Dahlstrom – played in the last World Championships and showed his importance to the team. Very skillful with fast pace, excellent technique towards goal scoring makes him a deadly opponent that will spread fear to all goalkeepers.
Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?
#79 Łukasz Chlebda – all of the team Poland demonstrates fair play and good sportsmanship but if only selecting one player it could be Łukasz Chlebda. The most experienced player in the team that always strives to make sure that all players are focused on their task and playing fair. He brings out the best in people.
Austria
Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during WFCQ 2024?
Austria’s team has undergone a substantial transformation, with the majority of the roster consisting of new faces. Only a handful of players remain from the previous squad that participated in the last qualification. Our strategic approach revolves around placing our trust in promising young players who offer long-term potential and room for growth. We are committed to nurturing their talent and helping them progress.
In addition to our focus on youth development, we are collaborating with Czech coaches who bring a wealth of knowledge in modern floorball styles and player development. Furthermore, we have integrated players with experience from foreign leagues in Switzerland, Sweden, and Germany into our team. Their international experience and exposure will undoubtedly contribute to our team’s growth.
Our primary objective is to build a competitive and formidable team in preparation for the 2026 events. However, we firmly believe that our efforts this year will already demonstrate our quality and determination.

#58 William Schlugi – Born in 2002 and hailing from Sweden, William brings a burst of energy and intelligence to the game. We are excited to highlight his exceptional abilities and what he brings to our team. William Schlugi is a true dynamo on the floorball court. His Swedish origins have endowed him with a deep understanding of the game, and he consistently displays his intelligence in every match. His ability to read the game and maintain a high level of game awareness is truly remarkable.
