Men's U19 WFC 2023 team presentations - Group B

The 12th Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships will be played from 26th – 30th April 2023 at Arena Nord, in Frederikshavn, Denmark. Germany, Slovakia, Sweden and Switzerland are playing in Group B.

Germany

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

The German team is – compared to 2021 – quite experienced. Although it is the very first WFC for the majority of players most of them already have played 10 international matches. The aim in Denmark will be to keep a place in the “A division” and come as close to the top 4 teams as possible.

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#70 Anton Weyrauch is our rookie and the only player born in ’06 but he already brings the experience of 20 Bundesliga games. His positive energy is amazing. He is a very versatile player and always gives 100%.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#27 Niklas Blanke is our team captain and leader. He is always calm and controlled in all his actions. His self confidence might be based on the fact that he is playing first line at the German record champion UHC Weissenfels.

Most skillful player?

#29 Jakob Heins is the most experienced and skilful player. He has been playing at the highest Swedish junior level for over two years. The fact that he just signed a contract at SSL team Pixbo Wallenstam in Sweden speaks for itself.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#10 Luis Rüger is a tough fighter but never unfair. You can’t resist his smile on and off the field.

Slovakia

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

We are an ambitious team that wants to fulfill goals thanks to team – not individual performance. We believe everyone´s trust in strength of team will help us get closer to the top 4.

Players to watch

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#76 Marek Pacek. The youngest player of the team. Well known and successful mainly due to his game overview and feeling for choosing the right place on the rink

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

#73 Mario Ozimy. Player who is focused on hard work. On and also off the rink. Mario adapts each of his steps to continuous improvement. Supports not only his own development but also the development of his teammates.

He is also our most skillful player!

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#27 Michal Bacisin. Because fairplay and a sense of justice prevails for him over everything else. He proves it at every moment!

Sweden

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

We have worked together hard to really become a Team with a clear identity. My picture is that all staff and players works in the same direction and is willing to do what it takes to be successful at the WFC. I also think that we have a good mix of players in the team. Defensive giants, social geniuses, players that creates for others and sharpshooters that loves to create scoring opportunities.

Team rookie or young player to look out for on your team and why?

#65 Daniel Kalentun is born 2005 but has been a part of the group for the hole journey. He can play all positions and has a wide repertoire. Plays physical, can make great passes and also loves to score when the game is tight.

Who is a leader on and off the field and why?

Our captain #24 Oscar Magnusson is important for us. On the field he has a great body language, and can handle stressful situations with quality. Off the field, he takes good responsibility for all of the members of the team and keepes the team united.

Most skillful player?

#79 Gabriel Kohonen in attack is one of the smartest players i have seen in this age. He understands the game in a great way and can think one situation ahead. We have seen great plays from him so far, and i am sure that we will see much more in Frederikshavn.

Which player demonstrates #FairFloorball the best?

#11 Emil Nyh is one of many examples from our team i think. He will always give his all on the field. A great teammate and also a very respectful opponent.

Switzerland

Describe your team, and what should we expect from your team during MU19 WFC 2023?

Team Switzerland starts the tournament with a physically strong group with many good individual skills. The goal is to form the individuality of the players info a successful team and te be able to show the best performance at the weekend.

#26 Vinz Burren – the youngest player on team has a good shot and excellent finishing skills.
