The German Cup Final4 Weekend 2023 took place over the weekend and this year’s winners have been crowned. For the Women it was Dümptener Füchse and on the Men’s side UHC Sparkasse Weißenfels took home the trophy from Berlin.
For the second time in a row, the Final4 competition was held in Berlin at the Max-Schmeling-Halle. With a new spectator record of almost 2000 spectators and a large supporting program this final tournament was a great promotion and example for German floorball and spectator entertainment. The supporting program ranged from the Talente-Pokal with 35 registered teams, to the Special Olympics on Sunday, as well as the big Trainer: innen-Congress as part of Floorball Connected. There was also a mascot game too!

Some very close matches in the semifinals set up a tense final day with all to play for in Berlin.
In the women’s final there was a rematch of last year’s DM final. The ETV Lady Piranhhas Hamburg faced the Dümptener Füchse from Mülheim. In an exciting and hard-fought game, the score was 2:2 after 60 minutes of regular playing time, so extra time was needed. 8 minutes in and the breakthrough came from U19 national player Nuria Guerbouj, who fizzed a shot past the strong Hamburg keeper Mieke Flathmann to crown her and the Dümptener “Foxes” first time German Cup winners.
In the Men’s final, TV Schriesheim – in their first Final4 participation – faced record champion and reigning cup winner UHC Weißenfels. In a great game, in which Schriesheim goalie Simon Seibert was voted Best Player on the TV side, the experience of UHC prevailed in the end and Weißenfels won the German Cup for the second time in a row beating their opponents by 9 goals to 6. Forward Sascha Herlt was key to UHC Weißenfels success on the day with a goal and 2 assists to help his side to victory.
