The floorball community has decided: In the semifinals of this year’s Supercup, both the women’s and the men’s teams will play a rematch of the previous Cup finals. The Supercup will take place for the first time as a “Final Four Tournament” on 27/28 August 2022 at the AXA Arena in Winterthur.
Kloten-Dietlikon Jets versus Skorpion Emmental Zollbrück: This was not only the pairing in this year’s Cup Final, but also the pairing in the semi-final of this year’s Supercup. This was the result of the public vote by an extremely narrow margin of three votes. In February, the Jets defeated their rivals from Emmental 4:3. Can they also prevail in the Supercup or will the Skorps take revenge? The other women’s semi-final is Piranha Chur vs. Red Ants Rychenberg Winterthur.
The result for the men was also close: A good 36 percent voted for GC Unihockey vs. HC Rychenberg Winterthur (an overview of the voting can be found in the table at the end). This means that there will also be a repeat of this year’s Cup final in the men’s competition, which GC won 9:3. In addition to this Zurich derby, there will also be a derby in the other men’s semi-final: Superfinalist SV Wiler-Ersigen will meet Floorball Köniz.
