The 13th Women’s World Floorball Championships will be held in Uppsala, Sweden from 27th of November until 5th of December 2021. Sweden, Finland, Slovakia and Germany are playing in Group B.

Sweden

What has changed in women’s floorball in your country since the last WFC in 2019?

The big change is that more and more teams play with higher intensity, want to win the ball higher up in the field, want to direct the conditions in the games and own the ball a lot. Since then more and more international top players have taken the step over to Sweden and raised both the status and the level of our highest league, SSL.

Describe your team. What should we expect from your team during WFC 2021?

We want a lot of ball and dictate the conditions in the games. We want to be forward-leaning and play with high intensity where all players show participation in both the attacking game and the defensive game.

Finland

What has changed in women’s floorball in your country since the last WFC in 2019?

Finland’s highest floorball league got a new brand and F-liiga was established in 2020. Finland is constantly developing young talented players with very good technical skills and as a proof of that Finland is women’s U19 World Champion 2021.

Describe your team. What should we expect from your team during WFC 2021?

We have many same players than in the last WFC in Neuchatel, so we are now more experienced team than two years ago. It has been already 20 years since Finland won the women’s world championship last time. The hunger has grown during these years and the team is ready to chase the gold medals.

Slovakia

What has changed in women’s floorball in your country since the last WFC in 2019?

Well the pandemic situation didn’t really help Slovak floorball to improve because the leagues were stopped for almost year and a half and training options were very limited. On the other side, players who participated at the last U19 championship are more experienced and can slowly become the future of Slovak floorball.

Describe your team. What should we expect from your team during WFC 2021?

I would describe us as young underdogs. I think that nobody really expects a lot from us so we can only surprise and hopefully repeat the 5th place from 2017.
