Switzerland

What has changed in women’s floorball in your country since the last WFC in 2019?

We had to cancel camps and international tournaments during year 2020, and then try to catch up things in 2021. For Swiss Players, most challenging thing was that there were no matches in the Swiss league for a long time during the last season.

Describe your team. What should we expect from your team during WFC 2021?

Switzerland is always a hard fighting team with a strong spirit. The team consists of players who can control the game and create scoring chances. Switzerland will try to win a medal at this WFC, ideally reach the final game.

Czech Republic

What has changed in women’s floorball in your country since the last WFC in 2019?

Women’s floorball in Czech Republic has grown since the last WFC in Neuchâtel. Unfortunately, season 2019/20 was stopped during play-offs and we didn’t have any champions. Last season had been stopped just for a few months and finally, there was a chance for the ninth Superfinal with fans on the stands. Vítkovice won the women´s league in overtime. In September 2021 Czech WU19 team showed great performance and finally won the bronze medals in Uppsala, Sweden. In June 2021, Czech Floorball established the first independent Women’s floorball Commission.

Describe your team. What should we expect from your team during WFC 2021?

It’s in the Czech DNA to be dangerous from a well organised defence.

Latvia

What has changed in women’s floorball in your country since the last WFC in 2019?

Situation in sports in Latvia has been challenging the last two years in general – with no training and matches allowed in some periods. It has been difficult to maintain players’ motivation to train and work hard to improve their performance. Many experienced players have stopped playing floorball and not so many new players have joined floorball teams in Latvia lately. Hopefully the situation will get better soon.

Describe your team. What should we expect from your team during WFC 2021?

Our team is young, but despite that a lot of players already have international experience from previous adult and U19 World Championships. In this Championship we want to show our best possible performance not only defending, but also trying to play a more attacking style with increased ball control.
