The Men’s U19 World Championships will take place from August 25 to August 29 in the Vodova Arenas in Brno, Czech Republic. 

It has been more than 18 months since any WFC. Now, the final preparations for the Men’s U19 WFC are under its way. As previously announced, the Men’s U19 WFC 2021 will be played with 15 teams due to Covid-19 pandemic. Sweden, Switzerland, Denmark and Germany are playing in Group B.

 

SWEDEN

As a Swedish national floorball team the aims are high. They play all national games with the ambition to win them. This WFC in Brno is no exception, although Sweden enters this tournament with a quite inexperienced team. Having only five players that played national games before the WFC.

Players to watch:

Oscar Johansson

Captain and defender masters both the defensive and the offensive parts of the game. Besides from that he is also a great leader.

 

 

 

Emil Jacobsson

Has the ability to help his teammates by creating space for them. He is particulary strong in the defensive parts of the game, for example boxplay.

 

 

 

Emil Wiklund

Works hard and especially like being the one that starts the forechecking, has the ability to create scoring opportunities from putting pressure on the opponents.

 

 

 

SWITZERLAND

The team is characterized by a strong team spirit and a powerful and aggressive play. The goal is to win the group stage and then play the best possible level in the final games.

Players to watch:

Luca Fankhauser

Defender with a good physical presence and leadership qualities.

 

 

 

Rohit Chiplunkar

Strong defender with great positional game and sleek hands for the zone entry play.

 

 

 

Claudio Schmid

Experienced forward with scoring qualities and high intelligence play

 

 

 

DENMARK

This year edition of team Denmark includes skillful and technical players. The team has been looking forward to play the WFC, and will do everything to play their best – every match.

Players to watch:

Niklas Andersen

Skilled and hardworking player who makes his teammates look good.

 

 

 

Mark Bertram

Playing his international games, talented keeper who is calm and controlled in the goal.

 

 

 

Frederik Bisgaard
Skilled and creative player who always gives his best for the team.

 

 

 

GERMANY

It might be quite unexperienced team but the German team in 2021 displays great team spirit. Only four players participated during WFC 2019 in Halifax. Despite of the Corona pandemic the team trained a lot and is well prepared for Brno. The minimum goal is to reach the game for 7th place and to defend the spot in the A division.

Players to watch:

Paul Dall

The co-team captain is one of the most experienced players in the team. The routine of 17 international matches can be seen in all his actions. It seems that nothing can upset him.

 

 

 

Leo Häfner
The second co-team captain is currently playing for Wiler-Ersigen in Switzerland. His energy and power is tremendous and can electrify the whole team.

 

 

 

Jakob Heins

One of the youngest players in the team but already one of the most dangerous forwardsx. He has proven his skills and the ability to read the game at the youth academy of Pixbo Wallenstam.
