It has been incredible 18 months ago when the last international match took place for Sweden. It has even been three months longer with out a game for Team Finland as they didn’t have to play the qualification for WFC 2020 in February 2020. We have been talking to both coaches.
What is the goal for these two international games? Will you rather be trying new players or forming the final details for WFC 2020 in December 2021?
— It’s both. We are testing the game and adjusting with large brushstrokes right now. The closer to the WFC we get, the smaller brushes will be used. We also have a nice competition on many positions which means that basically all players must compete in all situations right now, informs Thomas Brottmann, Coach from Team Sweden.
— The goal for these games is to learn more about our players and of course to test some new players as well, answers Petteri Nykky, Head Coach from Team Finland
What do you expect from these two games?
— I really do not know what to expect. It’s Niklas Nordén and my first international matches together. But we really want to see that we compete hard and that the energy is at the maximum at all time. It will be wrong sometimes but that is not the most important thing. The most important thing is that everyone really goes all in this upcoming weekend, states Thomas Brottmann and he adds, Sweden against Finland is fun!
— I dont have any expectations for the games other than I would like to see where we stand at the moment. Furthermore, to gather some information about the players as well as the tactics, shares Petteri Nykky.
The first game will be played on 12th August 2021 and the second game will be on the following day, 13th August 2021. Both games will be played in Eerikkilä, Finland.
There will be a live stream which can be found here.
