Dario Falchi has been named the new Head Coach of the Italian Women’s U19 national team. In addition, Manolo Salvagno will join the team as the Assistant Coach.
The leadership of the Italian Women’s U19 national team is going through changes. After many years of work Vito Adragna will leave the role of the Head Coach. Dario Falchi is the new Head Coach and Manolo Salvagno the new Assistant Coach of the team.
Falchi has already started the work in the new position, to start the next cycle in the best possible way. The legacy transfer is fairly easy, as Falchi has been a member of the team staff already earlier in the role of a coach. The next important event, namely the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships 2022 EUR Qualification awaits, when the event takes place in Saku, Estonia from 8th to 11th of September.
Falchi and the WU19 team staff are in close collaboration with the Head Coach of the Women’s national team Simone Baratin. This collaboration is important as Baratin can provide Swiss know-how and will cooperate with Falchi in carrying out combined meetings which have already given many excellent ideas to Italian floorball in the squad. The Women’s and WU19 teams will get together from 3rd to 7th of August in Avezzano when the WU19 team will prepare for the U19 WFCQ.
— As I was already in Vito Adragna’s staff I intend to continue the work according to the program we had already established, obviously adding some new ideas being studied with the new Assistant Coach Manolo Salvagno. The immeidate next objective is of course the upcoming Qualifications in Saku in Estonia, I am very happy there will be four very important matches and I am sure our girls will do their best. We will face three very strong and different opponents, but we will try to play our game in every match, Falchi comments when asked about the next project with the WU19 team and about the upcoming U19 WFCQ.
—The expectations for my team are in line with the established programs and with the players in the team, but it has been difficult for all teams to prepare themselves in the best way due to covid. My mentality is always proactive and positive and we always start with the idea of playing all the games by playing our own game, he concludes.
Although the leadership of the team changes, other members of the team staff stay in their positions. Jorgen Olshov will continue as the Team Manager, Emanuela Blanchi as the Physiotherapist and Susanna Giannó as the Team Official.
In their press release, the Italian Floorball Federation expressed gratitude to Vito Adragna for his valuable work and wished him the best of luck for his next adventures, on and off the playing field.
