Due to the outbreak of Covid-19, which affected both semi-final teams FBC Kalmarsund and IBF Falun, all parties have agreed on a new match date for the Men’s final in Gävle. The Women’s final will be played on the 24th of April at 15.15 and the Men’s final will be played on the 2nd of May at 15.15. The finals are broadcasted on SVT and SportExpressen Play.
It was before the fifth semi-final that it was established that both teams had several cases of Covid-19 in the player squads. The Swedish Floorball Federation then decided to pause the semi-finals, in mutual agreement with the teams.
After dialogue with the affected teams, Gavlehovshallen in Gävle, the Swedish Super League association, and broadcasting companies SVT and Expressen, a decision has now been made to postpone the Men’s final.
The change of the Men’s final date means the following for the continued semi-final series between Kalmarsund and Falun (currently 1-3 in matches): Semi-final 5 and possibly 6 will be played in KIFAB Arena in Kalmar, 27th and 28th of April. The possible semi-final 7 will be played in the Guide Arena in Falun, on April 30th.
The winner will meet Storvreta IBK in the Swedish championship final.
– We are happy and grateful that all parties were able to agree upon a solution in a very short time and in the extremely complex situation we are in. The solution we have now found is the best possible and we hope that everything goes according to the plan so that we can carry out the Swedish Championship Final in this way, says the Swedish Floorball Federation’s Competition Director Magnus Nilsson in Swedish Federation’s press release.
