The Women’s play-off pairs of the Swedish Super League (SSL) have been decided and the first quarter-final matches will be played on the 25th and 26th of March.
Thorengruppen won the Women’s regular season and is the favourite to win the Women’s SSL this season together with Pixbo, who only finished three points behind.
The teams placed 1-4 meet the teams placed 5-8 in the quarter-finals (best of five). The quarter-final pairs have now been elected and the first placed team in the regular season got to choose their opponent first.
Quarter-final pairs (regular season ranking):
Thorengruppen (1) – Malmö (8)
Pixbo (2) – Västerås Rönnby (7)
Endre (3) – Täby (6)
Sirius (4) – Mora (5)
The teams that win the quarter-finals will advance to the semi-finals (best of five). In the semi-finals the highest ranked team if the regular season will face the lowest ranked team. The semi-finals will start on the 8th of April. Check the play-off schedule here.
The winner will be decided in one final in Gävle on the 24th of April.
Next season the Women’s SSL will not see a change in teams, as the series below (Allsvenskan) was cancelled. Same 14 teams will play in SSL 2021/2022.
Veera Kauppi won the regular season points league
Thorengruppen’s Veera Kauppi won the regular season points league with a total of 72 points (31 + 41). Oona Kauppi (Thorengruppen) and Ellen Bäckstedt collected the second most points, 59 points in total. Oona Kauppi also scored most goals, 38 goals in total.
