Earlier this year, the Côte d’Ivoire Floorball Federation (FIFL) was recognised by the national Ministry of Sports. Recently, the federation was granted the delegation of power. Only recognised federations receive delegation from the Ministry of Sports.

In addition to Côte d’Ivoire Floorball Federation, the Ministry of Sports granted the delegation of power to diverse sport federations during a special ceremony. This delegation gives these federations the power to define the organisational arrangements for the sports competitions for which they are responsible of, coordinate the activities of sports associations, and promote gender equality in sport.

The appointed federations can also organise national and international competitions under their respective International Federation, participate in the detection and training of athletes, represent Côte d’Ivoire during international competitions, and represent Côte d’Ivoire at the international sport organisations.

According to the President of Côte d’Ivoire Floorball Federation, Marcel Wadja, the delegation of power is the final step of the process:

– We have been working towards this for some years. This is the final step. I would like to congratulate my whole team, supporters and our partners for the work done during all these years. Our next challenge is to be one of the best floorball nations in Africa, ensure a good development project of this discipline everywhere in Côte d’Ivoire, promote floorball and gender equality in schools, and to prepare our national team for the next international competitions.
