GAISF, supported by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), has on the 30th of June launched sustainability.sport, a web portal dedicated to sustainability issues such as climate change, economic inequality and social injustice.

The sustainability portal has been created to help further sport’s sustainability goals by providing a free tool where sustainability resources from the entire sports community can be collated onto one dedicated platform. Read the news article here.

As this topic is also important for the IFF, a number of material and articles have been submitted to GAISF and introduced into the web portal. The whole initiative is a welcome addition to portray that sport is working hard to contribute to stop climate change. Further, sport has unparalleled power to influence people so it should be harnessed to transmit the message on the importance of sustainability as well as the means on how each and every one can contribute.

In May this year, the IFF published its partnership with myclimate to build on its environmental sustainability efforts.
