Over 35 participants attended “Teaching Floorball from Distance” webinar organised by the Brazilian Floorball Association.
On June 9th, the Brazilian Floorball Association organised a webinar entitled “Teaching Floorball from Distance” aimed for educators from all over Brazil. The theme arose from experiences carried out during the pandemic with the main idea was to introduce floorball to teachers and showing that they can start already now.
School physical education teachers, Matheus Toscano and Tiago Rodrigues, who had implemented the sport in their schools and were trying or succeeding in the distance implementation. For 1 hour and 15 minutes, about 40 educators followed the presentations and ABF introduced the “Floorball at Home” initiative, focusing on three areas:
- Access to equipment, including ecological and sustainable solutions to play at home with from recyclable materials.
- Campaign #FloorballemCasa (#FloorballatHome), encouraging people to post photos and videos of floorball training at home, competing for courses and equipment.
- Online courses for athletes, educators and referees.
– It was great to hear and share our experiences with floorball with children and young people, and I hope that more educators can introduce the sport to their students. Multipliers are an important source of growth for Floorball in Brazil, says Guilherme Freitas, Professor of physical education, responsible for the presentation of the webinar and Secretary General of ABF.
