After 18 years, the Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships will return to Czech Republic. Now it is also clear that Brno will be the Czech city hosting the Men’s U19 WFC in the end of April 2021.

Brno is the second largest city in the Czech Republic, which has previously hosted the Women’s World Floorball Championships and Euro Floorball Tour tournaments. The venue is the Vodova double arena. The main arena has the  capacity of 2.900 seats and the second arena has 900 seats.

The Men’s U19 WFC will move back to the European continent after four years; in 2019 when the event was organised in Halifax, Canada, the Czech team won the first world championship title in the history of Czech Floorball.

Czech Floorball chose Brno as the organiser for the following reason:

–  The fact that this event enjoys great support from the city of Brno and the South Moravian Region, which we greatly appreciate, contributed greatly to our decision. In addition, we have a great experience with Brno in organising international events, such as the Women’s World Championship in 2013 and the Euro Floorball Tour, most recently in spring 2018. We believe that fans will create a great atmosphere here again, says Czech Floorball President Filip Šuman.

The 2nd Men’s U19 WFC was played in Prague in 2003. Now, after eighteen years the MU19 WFC will return to the Czech Republic.

A total of 28 teams have registered for the 11th Men’s U19 WFC 2021. Singapore will play their first Men’s U19 event since 2005, while China will compete in their first. Read more here.
