Happee Floorball Club has decided to offer help to individuals who belong to the coronavirus risk group. Both players and club leaders are helping those in need.
The help offered includes for example doing the shopping for elderly people who live alone in Jyväskylä. In addition, one Happee player who lives in Kuopio, has offered to help people in a similar situation in his home region.
The risk group consists of is the elderly, people with chronic diseases and especially those who are at risk to get respiratory infections.
– Our community has always supported and helped us, both in times of success and also during tough and more difficult times. Now we have time and heart to help our community, Happee states on their website.
The Finnish Floorball League season ended on Sunday, when the Finnish Floorball Federation Board decided to cancel the season. Yesterday (March 16th) the Finnish Government also decided on additional measures to address the coronavirus outbreak in Finland. One of the general guidelines is that persons over 70 years of age must refrain from contact with other persons to the extent possible (quarantine-like conditions).
