The IFF proposed in cooperation with Czech Floorball the Men’s U19 WFC champions, team Czech Republic, to be one of the World Games Team of the Year candidates for the following reasons:

The Czech Under 19 Men’s floorball team made history in Canada in May 2019 by winning the first ever World Floorball Championships gold medal in the history of Czech Floorball.
Czech Republic played an incredible final against the reigning champion, Sweden, beating them by six goals and making them the 2019 champions. The battle for gold was a strong one. Shots were taken in first period, but nothing came of it. In the second period the Czechs came with a new hunger and obliterated the competition. This was the first time any team other than Finland and Sweden have won gold in any Men’s World Floorball Championships. History was made in Halifax 2019 and a new milestone for floorball reached.
