The new season in the men’s and women’s Bundesliga started on 14th of September. The next matches will be played on Saturday and Sunday. 

1. FBL Men

In the men’s 1. Floorball Bundesliga (1. FBL), this season’s favourites are the reigning champion MFBC Leipzig and the record champion UHC Sparkasse Weißenfels. In total 10 teams are playing in the men’s league and the top three teams are currently Weißenfels, Floor Fighters Chemnitz and ETV Piranhas Hamburg with 6 points each. Top scorer at the moment is Flemming Kuhl, who has gathered 11 points (8+3) in the first two matches. One of this summer’s top transfers was German national team goalkeeper Mike Dietz who transferred to Swedish Gävle GIK. UHC Weißenfels lost for example their key player Anssi Soini, who transferred to Swiss NLB team Red Devils March-Höfe Altendorf.

1. FBL Women

In the women’s league, there are six teams playing for the title. All other teams have started their season but the reigning champion UHC Weißenfels will play their first game on the upcoming Sunday against Red Devils Wernigerode. MFBC Leipzig/Grimma is currently leading the table after winning 13-1 against Red Devils Wernigerode and 6-3 against ETV Lady Piranhas Hamburg. The national team forward Anna-Lena Best is the top scorer at the moment with 7 points (3+4).

German Cup

73 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams have registered for the German Cup. The winners will be decided in the Floorball Final 4 event which will be played in Berlin at the famous Max-Schmeling-Halle in March 2020. Men have already played their first round and second round will take place on 5th-6th and 12th-13th of October. Women will play their first matches on 16th-17th of November.
