The Latvian team Bauska won both the 35+ and 45+ categories in the European Masters Games (EMG) 2019. A total of six teams played in the first ever EMG floorball tournament July 31st – August 4th in Torino, Italy.

Bauska defeated the Czech team Vysočani Rossoneri in the final 6-1 and SKP Falkoni Holešov from Czech Republic won the bronze match against Tigers from Finland 11-6.

– The event was really nice, a lot of fair-play and entertaining games. And even if the floor wasn’t perfect and the weather was really hot, everyone was happy about the event. The floorball tournament was quite small, but I am really happy we have been able to organise the very first EMG in floorball, Mr. Giorgio Rambaldi, the Italian Federation President, comments.

About the European Masters Games

The European Masters Games (EMG) is an international multisport event that takes place every four years. This year the event took place in Torino, Italy from 26th July – 4th of August, and Floorball was on the programme for the first time. The EMG is organised by the International Masters Games Association (IMGA) which is a non-profit organisation. The international sports federations that have their sports as core sports in the World Masters Games programme, are members of IMGA.
