Latvia’s women’s U19 team played three international matches against Finland’s U16 women’s team during the weekend. Finland’s WU16 team won two matches and Latvia’s WU19 team won one match.
The Finnish team won the first match with clear numbers 10-3. Eeva Heininen (0+2) was elected best player of the winning team. In the second match, the host team Latvia came out stronger and could win the battle 6-3. Jolanta Backure in Latvia’s goal, made 33 saves and was elected best player of the winning team.
The third match was the tightest one. The score was 1-1, 2-2 and 3-3, but team Finland was strong in the third period and won the match 5-3. Annajulia Järvelä (2+1) was elected Finland’s best player.
