The men’s final in Finland was decided yesterday, when Classic won 4-2 against TPS. This is the fourth championship for Classic in a row.
Classic won the deciding fifth game in their home arena in Tampere in front of 1757 spectators. Although TPS was a physical and tough opponent, the final series ended 4-1 for Classic. This was also the first medal for TPS in the Finnish Salibandyliiga.
In the last game, Classic was leading 3-2 in the second period, but TPS did not give up. The scoring leader Joonas Pylsy became the decider of the final, scoring the 4-2 goal in the beginning of the third period. This was too much for TPS and the reigning champion Classic took home the championship.
In addition to the championship title, Classic received the ticket to the Champions Cup in 2020. The event will take place in Czech Republic. Earlier this year the team was victorious in Gävle, winning against Storvreta in the Champions Cup final.
