Pixbo Wallenstam’s captain and three times WFC gold medallist, Daniel Calebsson, played his last match on Friday when Pixbo lost their fourth SSL quarter-final agains Falun.

Daniel Calebsson has played in five Men’s World Floorball Championships (2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010) and won three WFC gold medals and two silvers. In addition, he has played in the Floorball Champions Cup 2016 with Pixbo. Calebsson has also represented the Swiss club Floorball Köniz, but since 2010, he has represented the SSL club Pixbo Wallenstam.

– Right now I’m feeling disappointed because we lost the match, but there is also bit of melancholy. The feeling of winning with a team is going to be hard to replace, it is the best feeling in the world. I love to train, spend time with the team, playing and winning, so I’m going to miss it much. But my time is over, I just have to admit it. I’m getting too old and have had lots of injuries, he comments his decision in Pixbo’s interview right after the quarter-final.

Daniel Calebsson also says that he has decided to stay at least one year away from floorball and that coaching can be a future option, but nothing is yet decided. He ends the interview by thanking all the fans.
