On Monday the 25th of February, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Ukrainian Floorball Federation and the Special Olympic Ukraine to develop floorball for persons with intellectual disabilities.
The ceremony was held in addition to a press conference organised by the Ukrainian Special Olympics team that is also soon to participate in the Special Olympics World Games in Abu Dhabi. – It’s very important for us to promote inclusiveness in floorball and with this cooperation we want to promote projects and cooperation with Special Olympics both on the national level and on the club level, says Mr. Tamuz Hidir, the President of the Ukrainian Floorball Federation.
– Floorball is a very accessible sport that is easy and fun to play and a very good sport for Special Olympics, Mr. Andrii Pidvarko, the National Director of Special Olympics Ukraine, concludes.
Floorball is one of the official sports on the programme of the Special Olympics World Winter Games. The next Special Olympics World Winter Games will be organised in Sweden 2021.
