WFC Qualifications in Trencin continued with three more games today. Russia, Finland and Latvia were the winners of day 2.

In the first game, Russia confronted Spain, who fought fiercely against Finland yesterday. Spain started strong and was able to surprise Russia’s goalkeeper in the beginning. Russia woke up halfway in the first period and after 20 minutes the score was 4-1 for Russia. Second period was more even and ended only 6-2 for Russia. Third and last period decided the game for Russia with numbers 10-3. The best player from team Spain was their goalkeeper Patricia Amores Puhl with 26 saves and Mariia Kitaeva from Russia, who gathered 4+1 points today.

Second match of the day was again goal celebration from team Finland. Germany fought well, but could not control Finland which scored goals on a wide front. Nancy Gatzsch (GER) had a hard time between the sticks and reached 54 saves during the 60 minutes. Final numbers 16-2 for Finland. Best player from Germany was the captain, Alena Holst, who showed never-ending fighting spirit. From Finland, the best player award went to Senni Hietanen who scored 4 goals and was the top scorer of the game.

In the final game of day 2, Latvia played against Hungary. Latvia started strong and were able to score three goals during the first 20 minutes. In the second period, they continued with another three goals. Final numbers were 6-1 for Latvia. Young Nora Lelovics, scored her first goal in the national team and also the only goal for Hungary in the game. She was awarded the best player of the match. From team Latvia, the best player was Liga Vancane, who gathered 2 points in the match.
