Welcome to the WFCQ for EUR1 & EUR3 – Gdansk, Poland

Floorball has taken important steps to reach our Vision and ultimately a place in the Olympic Games. With the “Olympic Agenda 2020”, and “The New Norm” there are a lot of initiatives, including possible rotations of sports on the Olympic Programme, and the “upgrading” of the World Games. TWG 2017 in Poland was a huge success, both from the sporting as well as media and political perspectives. Again big congratulations to Poland for hosting excellent games! The road to TWG 2021 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA is on!

Floorball’s own events, the WFC and its continental qualifications are therefore very important from the sporting perspective, national teams need to play against the best, in order to improve and develop. At the same time, we need more events from the marketing/political side, to showcase floorball as a youth oriented and fast-growing sport worldwide. Europe is still the engine in developing floorball worldwide, with immense growth in Asia Oceania, and good and strong development in Africa and the Americas, and hence a strong Europe and strong national associations with continuous leadership is needed, of which Polish Floorball is a very good example.Tomas Eriksson IFF President

The IFF, with all participating teams, convey our gratitude to the city of Gdansk and the Polish Floorball Federation, wishing you full success with the WFCQ!
