The General Administration of Sports of China and Chinese Hockey Association successfully held a national floorball coaching seminar in the Olympic Sports Center in Yangzhou city, Jiangsu province. The seminar took place from December 22nd to 25th in 2018. 30 coaches passed the examination and successfully completed the basic level courses.
The seminar was held with the aim of building up the foundation of floorball development, promoting floorball into school academies and enhancing the reserves of national youth floorball talents. The seminar participants were for example from Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, Tibet and Zhejiang.
The opening ceremony was organised on 22nd of December and for example, Mr. Ching Sy Jeng, vice president of Asia Oceania Floorball Confederation and Mr. Wang Tong, deputy secretary general of the Chinese Hockey Association, took part in the ceremony. Also, Mr. Liu Dongwei, deputy secretary general of the Chinese Hockey Association and director of the floorball committee of the Chinese Hockey Association, Mr. Yuan Yong, a floorball lecturer and head of the training department of the floorball committee of the Chinese Hockey Association, Mr. Guo Xueqi, coach and referee and head of the competition referee department of the floorball committee of the Chinese Hockey Association, attended the opening ceremony.
During the seminar, Mr. Yuan Yong explained the development process, domestic development, project characteristics, basic technology and basic training methods of floorball to the students. Mr. Guo Xueqi explained the rules of floorball and the basic skills of the referees. The assistant coach He Xiaolong explained and demonstrated the basic skills and training methods of floorball goalkeepers. Through practical training, the instructors showed students the detailed training methods, competition processes and referees’ competition practices.
The training class conducted the final examination on the 25th December. A total of 30 students passed the examination and successfully obtained the basic level certificate jointly endorsed by the Chinese Hockey Association and the International Floorball Federation.
