A long-term sponsor of the International Floorball Federation (IFF), the rink provider Swerink, has decided to continue the partnership dating back to 2006. The official announcement was made during the 12th Men’s World Floorball Championships in Prague in the IFF General Assembly by Mats Norin, Managing Director of Swerink and Tomas Eriksson, IFF President.

The new agreement will become effective starting from 2019 and runs until the end of 2022. The contract guarantees that the best possible circumstances prevail for players and referees at the IFF events. The events include all World Floorball Championships (WFC) as well as the WFC Qualification tournaments, annually roughly 250 games. The value of the agreement is undisclosed.

– We have a long history with the IFF and are glad to be able to build on that legacy. The WFC’s are the most prestigious events in floorball and we want to be associated with that. I have understood that the IFF is also working hard to include the sport more in the urban and street floorball area which is a perfect fit with our outdoor product portfolio, Mr. Norin explains the background for the renewal of the sponsorship agreement.

– The best players in the world deserve the best circumstances in the world. Therefore, it is an honor to include Swerink as our rink provider also for the coming years. Having said that it is not the top countries alone that benefit from the rinks but any player participating in IFF events. As a federation we are striving to create further opportunities for Swerink to gain awareness and new business, Mr. Eriksson comments.

About Swerink:

The company Swerink started in 1996 in Hudiksvall, Sweden.

Swerink is a company that produces rinks and delivers them all over the world. In the beginning the rink had another name and under that name the rink was first produced 1984. This rink was the first floorball rink in the world that was approved, that was in 1986.

The Swerink Elite is the floorball rink that has been the WFC rink since 2006.

Swerink is always looking for possibilities to make floorball more accessible for people and always produces as high-quality rinks as possible.

Swerink also manufactures rinks for outdoor use because that arena is always open for everyone any time. To make more people play floorball the world needs more rinks outside.
