New IFF Event organisers were appointed and competition regulations were updated when the IFF Central Board held its third meeting of the year on September 2nd 2018 in Helsinki, Finland.
Saturday September 1st was a working session day concentrating on the topics for the upcoming IFF General Assembly, which takes place in conjunction of the WFC 2018 in Prague in Czech Republic.
IFF General Assembly
The IFF General Assembly will take place on the 8th of December 2018 in Prague in Czech Republic. The invitation to the IFF GA will be sent out this week in order to fulfil the criteria defined by the IFF statutes. The invitation needs to be sent out 90 days prior to the actual meeting.
The IFF GA will handle the financials, Annual reports, Plans of Actions, possible changes of the statutes and also topics brought up by the IFF members.
New Event organisers – Women’s WFC 2021 and Women’s U19 WFC 2020 to Sweden
The Swedish Floorball Federation will organise both the Women’s World Floorball Championships 2021 and the Women’s U19 World Floorball Championships 2020. This was decided at the IFF CB meeting after it had become clear that the Chinese Floorball Federation was not financially in the position to organise the events.
Both the Women’s Under 19 WFC 2020 and the Women’s WFC 2021 will be played in Uppsala. The women’s U19 WFC will be played 6-10th of May 2021 and the women’s WFC 4-12th of December 2021 in the IFU Arena.

Men’s WFC 2018
The Men’s World Floorball Championships are organised in Prague, Czech Republic, December 1st – 9th 2018. The local organisers have launched the media accreditation process and the official fanshop and more information is to be find here: iffwfc.org
Champions Cup 2019
The Champions Cup 2019 – Final Four will be played in Gävle, Sweden, January 3rd-4th. This is the first time that the IFF Champions Cup will be played in its new format. The champions from the top four floorball countries: Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland will participate. Men’s U19 WFC 2019
The Men’s U19 World Floorball Championships 2019 are played in Halifax, Canada, May 8th – 12th. This will be the first time that the Men’s U19 WFC has been held outside of Europe. 16 teams will compete in A- & B-divisions.
All A-division teams are directly qualified based on results from U19 WFC 2017. In B-division, three teams are directly qualified, while the remaining five teams will be decided through regional qualification events held in September 2018. More information from the IFF tournament pages:

Women’s WFC 2019
The Women’s World Floorball Championships 2019 are played in Neuchatel, Switzerland, December 7th – 15th (preliminary dates). The qualification tournaments will be organised in Poland, Slovakia, Thailand and USA. The match schedules will be published during September.
Updates in the U19 competition regulations
A clarification will also be added to the competition regulations concerning the U19 national teams:
All players participating in the U19 WFC (qualification and/or final round) must be aged at least 15 years old before the start of the final round and turn 19 years old no earlier than the 1st of January in the same year of the final round.
IFF Referees
The new nomination period of international referees and international observers will start from the 1st of January 2019 on. The IFF has requested the proposals from IFF Member Associations in June 2018 and the deadline to send in the proposals is the 14th of September 2018. The proposals will be handled by the IFF Referee Committee and will be presented to the CB in its meeting in October.
The CB decided to elect Mr.Ola Hamberg, a former international referee, to become a member of the IFF Referee Committee.
IFF Development work
The IFF plans to run a coaching and refereeing clinic in Cote d’Ivoire in mid-September in conjunction with the Africa Cup and a coaching and refereeing level 1+ seminar in India in the beginning of October. A good governance seminar is planned to take place in the end of October in Slovakia and a referee clinic is planned to be organised in Ireland in November with the co-operation of Special Olympics Ireland.
IFF Anti-doping work
The IFF CB approved the Athletes Commission proposal to nominate IFF ATC member Ms. Agata Plechan for the WADA Athletes’ Committee.
The IFF has also produced a new updated Anti-Doping Education Programme with focus on younger athletes and new teams, the programme will be gradually launched. In addition the IFF has produced a new educational video, regarding the dangers of food supplements, which will be published soon.
