Floorball Escorial are the U16 National Championships in Spain after the even final match against Floorball Fortuna.

The U16 National Championships were played in El Escorial, Spain 10th-11th of March. Four teams had qualified for the final event: Floorball Fortuna, Floorball Escorial, CUF Leganes and CDE Valle. Valle got a place in the championships due to the withdrawal of the team Asturias from Pola de Lena.

The tournament was played as a “final four format” with semi-finals on Saturday and medal matches on Sunday. Escorial and Fortuna took clear victories in the semis and made their way to the final. The result wasn’t a huge surprise as both teams were eight points ahead of the third classified team.

The bronze match between CUF Leganes and CDE Valle was an even fight. CUF Leganes were able to score the golden goal right at the beginning of overtime and celebrated bronze.
The fast-paced final was also a tight battle. Fortuna were in the lead at first, however slowly but surely Escorial started to gain more ball control and, in the end won the final 5-4.
