The player transfer period from the 1st of July 2017 until the 15th of January 2018 included 625 transfers in total between floorball countries.


International Transfers 2017

International transfer amount in 2017 was 611. This is a slight increase from the previous year’s (2016) ordinary transfer amount which was 593.

In 2017 two new transfer types was taken into use; Intercontinental Visitor transfer and Intermediate Student transfer which both are for short term, maximum of 60 days, transferring. For these IFF received 22 transfers. Also, the player transfer period was extended in 2017 over the holidays to January 15th, 2018, instead of December 31st as in previous years.

The number of completed transfers in 2017 was 611, out of which 91 was made to Switzerland, 89 to Sweden and 73 to both Czech Republic and Finland. This is the first time that Switzerland is the number one country for player transfers. International transfers were done to a total of 24 different countries in 2017.

The overall number of international transfers has increased steadily over the years and in 2017 with 3 % compared to the previous year. The total amount of transfers, if calculating both the ordinary transfers and the temporary play transfers, was 625 in 2017.


The next International Transfer period starts on the 1st of May 2018 and the transfers will be made valid starting from the 1st of July 2018.

Temporary Play Transfers 2017

The Temporary Play Transfer procedure, which started in 2008, continued also during the summer of 2017 with 14 transfers in total. This was a slight decrease from the year 2016: 26 transfers. The Temporary Play window was open between 1st of May and 31st of August 2017.

Transfer Statistics 1998-2017

International transfers have been made since 1998. The biggest amount of transfers during 1998-2017 has been completed to Sweden. Sweden has almost reached the limit of 2000 completed transfers with the total of 1 904 transfers so far and remains the number one country in 2017. Norway is the number two with the overall numbers of 1 522 and Switzerland, which has steadily increased the transfer amounts each year, is number three with 1 213 transfers.

The total number of transfers for 1998-2017 is now 8 387. This means 8% growth from last year.

Over the years, international transfers have been made to a total of 28 different countries.
