Each year Innebandymagazinet along with representatives from international floorball media and national team coaches announce the world´s best floorball players. The awarded players for 2017 are Alexander Galante Carlström (IBF Falun) and Veera Kauppi (Koovee).


For the 13th consecutive year the world’s best male floorball player is announced. Alexander Galante Carlström, forward in IBF Falun and the swedish national team, gets the 2017 award.
– I feel incredibly honored of course. It´s the finest award you can get as a floorball-player and it means that I have done something right during my years here, says Alexander Galante Carlström.

Why Galante Carlström?
For the second consecutive year, IBF Faluns goalscorer Alexander Galante Carlström has been voted the worlds best floorball player. During 2017, Galante Carlström broke the 13th year old record regarding the number of goals scored in Swedish Super League during one season (68). He was the top scorer in the SSL during the regular season and brought his Falun to yet another gold in the Swedish Super League, aswell as another Champions Cup gold. He also scored two very important goals in the final during the World Games where Sweden claimed the gold medal.

For the 11th consecutive year, the worlds best female floorball player is announced. Veera Kauppi, forward in Koovee Salibandy and the finnish national team, gets the 2017 award.
– Wow, this is pretty overwhelming because I wasn’t expecting this. I’m honored for getting my name in that list. I feel definitely privileged and I want to thank my family, especially my sister Oona, because I wouldn’t be in this situation right now without the support they have given me, says Veera Kauppi.

Why Kauppi?
After a nine month long absence due to injuries, Veera Kauppi was back on the floorball pitch during 2017. Better than ever. The combination of talent, hard word and passion has evolved her to become the next big star in the Finnish Salibandyliiga aswell as the Finnish national team. But her biggest strenght is that she can be at her best when there is the most at stake. This she showed during the finals between Sweden and Finland in the WFC 2017 where she was the biggest star on the pitch and came close to bringing the gold medal to Finland.

Born: July 19, 1997.
Position: Forward.
Original club: Koovee.
Current club: Koovee.
Merits: 2 WFC silver 2015,2017. 2 U19 WFC silver 2014/2016.

Winners are selected by Innebandymagazinet in cooperation with national team coaches and international media from the most influential floorball countries. Finnish star Mika Kohonen has been awarded most (5) times.
