A Floorball Development Seminar in coaching and refereeing block was carried out in Antalya in Turkey from the 13th to 15th of October. With over 40 participants, the seminar was a success.
The planning of the seminar started already in December 2016 and from the very beginning it was decided that it will take place in Antalya on the Southern cost of Turkey, because it was relatively easy to find a good venue and to organize accommodation for the participants.
Two blocks were educated, coaching and refereeing. Mr.Timo Suonpää, a Finnish top coach educated the coaching block and Mr.Veli Halonen from the IFF office was in charge of the referee block. There were 25 participants for the coaching and 20 for the refereeing.
–This was the first large scale FDS ran in Turkey and I was quite surprised of the positive level of Floorball in Turkey. There have been some smaller clinics earlier in Turkey, mostly in Istanbul area, but this time we had the whole big education in Antalya with almost 50 very enthusiastic Turkish Floorball people. I would also like to thank the Turkish federation and the president of the Turkish Federation Mr. Cem Emre Tarman and the development manager Mr. Abdullah Tulunay, says Mr.Veli Halonen from the IFF office.
-I think that coming to a country like Turkey is very important for the IFF and for the Floorball in general. I hope that the good development in Turkey will go on and get even stronger and hopefully we will all see the Turkish teams starting to participate to IFF events and to the international games. I did get some promises to that direction, he concludes.
More information and instructions of how to organize a Floorball Development Seminar can be found from here and Mr. Halonen from the IFF office is willing to give additional information and help the IFF member associations to organize Floorball Development Seminars.
