The day two of The World Games Floorball competition was victorious for team Sweden. They beat both USA and Switzerland and thus won the Group B. Czech Republic also made their way to the semi-finals by beating the host country Poland.


In the first match of the day, Sweden began their The World Games journey by playing against the USA. The two teams had never met before, but Sweden were the clear favourite due to the ranking difference. Sweden dominated the match from the beginning and showed their scoring skills. Match highlights:

In the second match of the day, Czech Republic and Poland played for the place in the semi-final. Before the game the question was whether Poland had recovered from their brave but energy-consuming fight against Finland. Tonight, it looked like they definitely had not whereas the Czech had survived from their loss against Finland. The Czechs were unstoppable and scored goal after a goal. They won the match 12-1 and secured their place in the semi-final. Read the full match report here.

In the third match of the day, Sweden and Switzerland battled for the first place of Group B. Both teams entertained the audience with physical floorball and fast plays creating scoring opportunities at both ends. Especially the Swiss goalie Curdin Furrer was on fire keeping his net safe and his team in the game. The Swiss weren’t able to score and even hit the goal post twice, but in the second period Sweden scored their first goal. In a tight game like this the team that makes use of its scoring opportunities wins and as so many times before between these two, it was Sweden with a score 3-0. Read the full match report here.

Sweden will play against Czech Republic and Finland will face Switzerland in the semi-finals. USA and Poland will battle for the fifth place.
