The men’s first semi-final matches were played in Finland the past weekend and the women’s semi-finalists were set.

Men’s league
In the men’s league Happee was the first to proceed to the semi-finals as they won against TPS four times in a row (7-6 ps., 6-5, 5-4 ot., 10-6). Next up were Classic and EräViikingit who both lost their first quarterfinal matches, but won the next four. Reigning Champions Classic defeated Indians (8-9, 7-6, 9-4, 7-4, 5-1) and EräViikingit were triumphant against Indians (5-6 ps., 7-4, 5-3, 14-5, 8-6). SPV and last season’s silver medallist Oilers were battling for the last place in the semi-finals. SPV was able to secure their spot in the next round by winning the sixth match (7-6, 6-7 ps., 6-3, 7-8 ps., 3-2 ot., 4-2).

Semi-final pairs:
Classic – Happee 2-0
EräViikingit – SPV 1-1

The first two semi-final matches have already been played. Classic has won against Happee twice (9-6, 8-2) and EräViikingit and SPV have both won one match (2-5, 9-5). The semi-finals will be played with a best of seven system.

Women’s league
In the women’s league last season’s silver medallist Classic continued their winning streak by defeating KooVee in three matches (9-1, 9-4, 10-2). SB-Pro sent the reigning champions NST to summer holidays as they also won three matches in a row (7-2, 9-1, 7-3). The other two semi-finalists were decided in the fifth and decisive matches. SSRA won against M-Team (5-4, 6-5, 1-5, 1-2, 9-3) and PSS won against the Finnish Cup winner TPS (7-4, 4-3 ot., 1-2, 3-6, 4-1).

Semi-final pairs:
Classic – PSS
SB-Pro – SSRA

The semi-finals will also be played with a best of five system and the first matches will most likely be played already during this week.
