The final day of Women’s WFCQ EUR1 started with the game Slovenia against France. Both teams had lost their games during the tournament and it was time to play for the glory and honor. The game between Norway and Denmark would decide, which of the teams would be number two in the group and would take the direct spot in the Final Round.

Slovenia was expected to be a clear winner of the game, but team France was a worthy opponent and gave nothing for free to the Slovenians. France was actually able t take the lead of the game in the beginning of the second period but Slovenia turned the game three minutes later by scoring the equalizing goal and were able to hold the lead until the end of the game.

4-3 victory for Slovenia and the fourth place in the group EUR1 was theirs.

The game number two of the day was very important for both Norway and Denmark. The winner of the game would take the second place in the group and would secure the direct spot to the Final Round. That caused some nervousness is both teams and as expected, the beginning of the game was very tight and also careful playing from both teams.

Norway scored the first one at 10.24, but after that they started to back up and it seemed that they thought that it would be enough to win the game. Half way of the second period Norway scored the second one and that gave them the relaxed feeling and the Danes used that and scored two goals during the end of the period.

2-2 after two periods and the real action started in the third period. A draw would be enough for Norway to end up as the second in the group, but trying to secure that is always risky business. The risk however paid off and the final result 2-2 secured the second spot of the group for Norway. Denmark still needs to wait for the results from the other groups if they will eventually make it to the Final Round.

From the EUR1 Sweden and Norway qualify directly to the Final Round in December and Denmark, as the third team of the group, needs to wait for the results of the rest of the games before their destiny will be decided.
