No big surprises were seen during the first day of the Women´s WFCQ EUR 2 in Celano, Italy. Poland and Finland were triumphant and earned their first points.
Great Britain played against Poland in the first match of WFCQ EUR 2. During the first period Poland were in the driver´s seat though Great Britain tried to even double the player with the ball. Great Britain also had a few counter attacks but with 20 minutes on the clock, Poland were on a 4-0 lead. The second period was no different to the first. Poland was able to score 5 more goals and were leading the match against Great Britain already 9-0 after 40 minutes. In the third period Poland´s Zuzanna Krzywak was efficient by scoring three goals. All in all she scored 5 goals during the match. The end result was Poland – Great Britain 15-0. It should be mentioned that Great Britain´s goalkeeper, Laura Hunter, had 57 saves in the match.

The local team Italia did not have the easiest team against them in their first WFCQ match. Finland, who are ranked second, are known to be efficient. During the first period they already scored 8 goals. Even though Italy didn´t control the ball much, they also had a few potential scoring chances. Similar to the second period, Finland kept scoring and the Italian crowd went crazy as soon as the Italian team got a scoring chance. After 40 minutes the score was 16-0 for Finland. More goals scored by Finland were seen in the third period and Italy also got a few dangerous scoring chances. All in all, the Finnish goalkeeper saved 13 shots in the match. With three and a half minutes left on the clock, Italy got their first goal. Italian player passed the ball from behind the net and the ball bounced into the net from a Finnish player´s foot. Despite of it being an own goal, the spectators and the players celebrated it loudly. 604 spectators watched the match and this is a record for the Italian floorball. Finland won the match 23-1.
