The international club tournament for veteran floorball players, the Prague Masters, was played 10th-12th of November in Prague, Czech Republic. A record-breaking 73 teams from 9 countries participated in the tournament.
The 11th Prague Masters was played last week. Two Czech teams battled for the gold in the Women 30+ category. Vitkovice and Elite Elements had also faced each other before the final and then the match resulted in a 2-2 tie. The final match was also tight, but in the end Vitkovice won the final 2-0.
In the Men 35+ category the Czech team Hlasna faced Riga from Latvia in the final. Hlasna started strong, but Riga was able to turn the tables around. Hlasna’s star player Dusan Privara, who still plays in the Czech top league, scored a hat trick and secured the victory for his team.
Czech team Hattrick played against Swedish Lockerud in the Men’s 40+ final. Lockerud consisted of Swedish floorball stars such as Jan-Erik Vaara who is the Sweden’s Men’s national team coach. The Swedish team won the final 4-2, Esa Karjalainen made three points, Vaara shot one goal and made one assist.
The most successful country in the tournament was the host country Czech Republic with 2 gold, 2 silver and 3 bronze medals. Sweden followed with 1 gold and 2 bronze medals. The third most successful country was Latvia with 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.
