Norwegian Sveiva IB and Slovakian FBK Kometa played against each other for the place in the EFC 2016 final. The winner after overtime was Sveiva. Tomorrow in the final they will face the winner of the match between UHC Weissenfels and Olimpia Osowa.

Sveiva IB-FBK Kometa 7-6 OT (1-2, 1-1, 3-2, 1-0)

Sveiva IB started by pressing the game to Kometa’s zone. They had good chances already in the beginning of the period, but we had to wait for the opening goal until there was 09:12 on the clock. After the goal the game turned totally over since the Slovakian side tied the game already a minute later and scored 2-1 at 11:23. No more goals were seen during the first period.

In the second period both teams scored once and the game was really even. First Kristine Torp made a surprising shot from the middle line and it floated over Kometa goalkeeper Jana Dupcakova. The time was at the moment 25:54. Two minutes later Kometa got a penalty shot. Paulina Hudakova scored already her third goal by putting the ball beautifully to the net past Mahlin Dahler. Without more goals the second intermission started in Kometa’s 3-2 lead.

The third period took the game to a whole new level. There was no lack of entertainment since Kristina Hudakova scored twice and increased the lead of the Slovakian side to 5-2. The Norwegians didn’t give up. In six minutes they had tied the game. After that Paulina Hudakova scored a beauty from behind the goal, but already in the next shift Kristine Torp’s long distance shot tied the game to 6-6 and with that being the end result, the game went overtime.

In the overtime both teams had some good chances, but it was Erica Hellberg who took advantage of one. She got a great diagonal pass from Julie Gidske and shot Sveiva IB to the EFC 2016 final.

The Hudakova sisters scored again a lot since Paulina did points 4+2 and Kristina 2+2. Sveiva´s most effective players were Julie Gidske and Erica Hellberg both with points 1+2.
