Pixbo Wallenstam IBK won the women’s elite category and EräViikingit the men´s elite category in the Floorball Czech Open 2016, 11-14.8.
In the women’s elite final, the Swedish champions Pixbo Wallenstam played against the Czech champions Florbal Vitkovice. In the tight match, Pixbo was better with numbers 4-3. Vítkovice´s Denisa Ratajová approaches the result positively:
– We showed that we can play against Pixbo, that they too are just people, she says.
Both teams will also be seen in the 2016 Floorball Champions Cup in Borås, Sweden 30.9-2.10:
– It is clear that in Champions Cup, Pixbo will go all in, but we are not going to stay behind, Ratajova concludes.

Finnish team EräViikingit was invincible in their first Czech Open. They didn’t lose a single game in the men’s elite category, including the final against the Swedish team Höllviken IBF. The only team that was able to steal a point from EräViikingit was the Swedish regular season winner Pixbo Wallenstam.
EräViikingit is a rather new club. It was created when two top Finnish floorball clubs Tapanilan Erä and SalibandySeura Viikingit (SSV) merged together. The team also has a lot of new players. Executive Director Jari Oksanen stated the importance of Czech Open at the start of the tournament:
– Czech Open is a very important preparation tournament for us. We want to play well there while strengthening or creating the team spirit. The goal being winning as many games as possible, of course.
