The General Assembly of Czech Floorball, which met on the first Sunday in June in Brno, has chosen its top officials for another three-year term. A term that will be very important for the Czech floorball movement, mainly because of the upcoming Men´s World Floorball Championships 2018.
The Executive Committee is exchanged half of its members, but Filip Šuman remains the President. The term of the newly elected Executive Committee will end in 2019.
Czech Floorball is still growing and looking forward to an important period. The season 2015/2016 ended only a month ago, but Czech Floorball already knows that the next one, which starts in September, will again be record-breaking.
– Last year we just crossed the magic number of two thousand teams entering the competitions. This year we have 2 166 teams, said the old-new president Filip Šuman.
Including the President there are nine members in the Executive Committee and half of them are newcomers.

The whole floorball movement in Czech Republic is looking forward to very important years. The significance of one of the major event extends far beyond the borders of the country when Floorball is on the programme of the World Games, taking place during summer 2017 in Wroclaw, Poland.
For floorball it will be the first direct match against the other candidates who compete for the inclusion in the Olympic programme. The event is of global significance and the eventual success may result in a very positive impact for the sport.
On the national level Czech Floorball has already experienced great success. The Men´s WFC 2008 started a meteoric rise of floorball in Czech Republic. Czechs are now looking forward to December 2018, when exactly after ten years the most significant floorball event will return to the heart of Europe.
– When we were preparing for the Men´s WFC last time, we had an idea of what it can cause. Therefore, we are now even more committed to at least repeat the success of the 2008 tournament, Šuman comments.
