The international transfer period started first of May and some top players are transferring to new foreign clubs. For example national team players Rasmus Sundstedt (SWE), Jani Kukkola (FIN), Tom Ondrusek (CZE) and Nico Scalvinoni (SUI) are taking on new challenges.

One of the star players of Finnish national team,
Jani Kukkola, has signed a three-year contract with the Finnish league team EräViikingit. EräViikingit is a merge of two clubs Tapanilan Erä and Viikingit. Together they form the world’s biggest floorball club. Read more about Eräviikingit here. During the last five seasons Kukkola has played in FC Helsingborg in the Swedish top league SSL. During the latest regular season Kukkola scored 37 points (16+21).

The two-time world champion Kukkola said that Eräviikingit was a natural choice for him when he returned home.
– I have played in both clubs and have a lot of happy memories from both of them. For me, the merger of these two clubs was making my decision simply easier. I know that we will have a great team. I still want to win, and I believe that this team will consist of many strong players, says Kukkola.

The Swedish national team player
Rasmus Sundstedt has played the past four seasons for Storvreta, Sweden. During his first season Storvreta won the Champions Cup and now, during his last season in the team, Storvreta won the national championship title. Sundstedt will not be seen in Borås to battle in this year’s Champions Cup. The Swedish defender is transferring to HC Rychenberg, Switzerland.
– I have greatly enjoyed being part of Storvreta, both on and off the field, and want to thank everyone around the team and the organisation – especially all the fans who have supported me, and the team, in an incredible good way. I will miss Storvreta and especially my wonderful teammates, but now I look forward to an exciting new chapter in my career in the Swiss HC Rychenberg, Sundstedt comments.

Switzerland’s national team player
Nico Scalvinoni is transferring to IBK Dalen, Sweden. Scalvinoni is an efficient scorer and was the fifth top scorer in the Swiss league last season. He is transferring from the new Swiss Champions, Grasshopper Club Zurich.
– Yes, the contract has been signed. I will not play for Grasshoppers next season. I am really looking forward to the new challenge and I’m happy that I could leave the club with a title, even though it means I will miss the Champions Cup. However, to play in Sweden has been a dream I have to fulfil. It feels almost as cool as getting the chance to play in the World Championships in December, says Scalvinoni.

The Czech national team player
Tom Ondrusek is transferring to Warberg IC, Sweden. Ondrusek scored 63 points (37+26) in the Czech league last season and was the second top scorer of the whole league. He is transferring from the new Czech Champions Florbal Chodov.
– A lot of people expect me to score a lot of goals. But for me it is not important. If I make 40 goals and we don’t make it to the play-offs or are relegated, then who cares about my goals. The team´s success is always the most important thing, says Ondrusek and adds:
– But yes, I´m here to score a lot of goals.
