The play-offs of the Special Olympics Floorball tournament were played today and Finland took the victory in the A-division of the first Special Olympics World Games floorball tournament. Switzerland is the winners of the B-division.

All players are winner in the Special Olympics competitions, but the best three teams of each division receive the official WG medals.

In the top division, A-division, Finland was the best team and did not lose a single match in the tournament. In the final the Finns beat the strong Russian team 6-2.

Team Finland’s Lauri Kinnunen, scoring 4+2, was elected the player of the match in the final.
– I am really happy about my team´s performance. First time at the World Games and this was an amazing experience. We got a good start of the match scoring two early goals and played a solid second period. I believe that this settled the match for us, the MVP of the final commented.

Denmark took the bronze in the A-division winning Sweden in the match for 3rd place.

In division B it was Switzerland was the strongest team, defeating Austria in the final. In the bronze match Ireland beat Korea.
